Hello, I'm Dennis the Apprentice.
I didn't find the trades until I was 26. I didn't really even know what an apprenticeship was. But when I did it really worked for me. I mastered my first apprenticeship and trade in only 6 years and then switched trades when I took over my father-in-laws business along with my sister in law and grew it 10x! We did that by developing a top notch apprenticeship program developing our best people ourselves. Now I devote my time to introducing the apprenticeship learning model to everyone I can.
My Story
I grew up on an apple orchard in Wenatchee Washington. I always imagined I would be a farmer...but my dad lost the orchard in hard times so I worked at several jobs looking for my path. It took me till 26 years old to finally find my first apprenticeship. And then it was off to the races for me. It only took me 6 years to master my craft and then I was offered a unique opportunity. To switch trades and help my father-in-law run his Plumbing company. I jumped at the chance to learn a new trade but after only 3 months...he had a heart attack and I ended up in charge of the company with Kimberly, my sister in law.
We grew that company over 20 years with a philosophy of building and developing our own plumbers through our own apprenticeship program. We successfully sold that company in the spring of 2023 and that freed me up to devote a majority of my time to my passion of helping young people find opportunity in the trades much sooner than I did.
Trade Traction is a culmination of 30 years of working as an apprentice and developing apprentices into very productive tradespeople.
